Risk Assessment Training
We regularly organise Risk Assessment Training for employees which include
training for risk related to machinery, chemical, fire, natural disasters, tool process, etc.
Safety
Employee safety and welfare are top priorities at MIL Group. To ensure a safe work environment, we conduct regular first aid training camps and emergency evacuation drills, reinforcing our commitment to safety preparedness. Strict enforcement of safety rules and regulations minimises accidents and protects both our workforce and products. Security personnel routinely patrol areas with hazardous materials to identify and address potential risks. We maintain controlled access at main and employee entrances, as well as in shipping and receiving zones. Through our implementation of the RISE Respect program, we are dedicated to preventing and addressing gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH) in the garment industry. Additionally, we uphold workers' rights, and offer ESI/PF benefits, creating a secure and respectful workplace for all employees.
Auditing
We conduct annual audits to maintain optimum efficiencies at our business units and factories. These are done to check if our employees have fulfilled the requirements towards their performance areas. MIL has strict policies for anti-bribery, anti-corruption, trauma and serious illness, prevention and remediation of child labour and detailed emergency action plans.
Education
Education is very important to MIL, hence we fund higher education for 3 children of our
workforce every year, based on their academic performance. We also run a private education institution for the community in Rajasthan, India, teaching CBSE board up to class XII, B.Ed and B.Pharm, and undergraduate degrees. 2% of our revenues every year go to the funding of the school.
Worker protection
MIL Group’s internal committees ensure comprehensive worker welfare, each addressing specific needs to create a safe, respectful, and supportive workplace. Committees such as the Worker Grievance, Canteen, Health and Safety, Work, and Environmental Committees—comprised of the HR Manager, Lady Welfare Officer (LWO), and worker representatives—meet quarterly to resolve issues, enhance workplace standards, and oversee matters like canteen management, safety equipment, and conflict resolution. The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), focusing on women’s welfare, collaborates with NGO Chitra to prevent and address issues like sexual harassment, meeting every two months and providing suggestion boxes for anonymous feedback. Together, these committees ensure a holistic approach to worker satisfaction and well-being.
Social welfare initiatives
We believe that happy people lead happier lives leading to improved productivity and overall efficiency in our workplaces. Since marriage is a major expense for our workers, we have embraced a programme where the young female workers of marriageable age, are provided with a trousseau customary to Indian weddings, with essential items such as utensils, clothing, jewellery etc. We also provide medical insurance for all employees, and have till date donated USD $200,000 for medical research mainly in the treatment of cancer.
Employee recreation
We believe that a workplace should be a mix of work and play. Employees at the factories have access to badminton and volleyball courts. Badminton championships, cultural programmes and various festival celebrations are regularly organised at the factories. In addition, annual retreats are organised for employees’ relaxation and are coupled with fun team building training. The first Sunday of every month employees are allowed to get their families to the factory.
